Founder, Itaru Yamamoto
Served as Assistant and Associate Professor at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Osaka University. After studying abroad at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology and the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology in the U.S., he became a professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Okayama University (Department of Immunology and Preventive Medicine). During his tenure, he developed stable and long-acting vitamin C (AA-2G) and highly penetrating vitamin C (6-Acyl-AA-2G), which were patented in Japan and abroad. Founded an Okayama university-launched start-up, AscorBio Laboratory in September 2004, appointed as President. Unexpectedly passed away in May 2019. He received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in the spring of 2019.
